It’s that time of year again, when the days get shorter and the weather (allegedly) gets cooler. Let’s catch up with the Kru to see what everyone was up to this summer.
Bossman Chris started his Summer at his favorite annual hootenanny, Banjo-B-Que. He spent time with family and friends at the beach this summer, and took part in the great Sapelo Rescue of 2018, and had a killer week at Rosemary Beach. The summer was capped off by a birthday trip to Asheville and a Band of Horses Concert. In true bossman fashion, he also spent the summer re-vamping our Land of Thee brand, and adding some neat props around the office.
Christy spent a lot of time this summer honing her photography skills. She traveled to Orlando with the usual Disney Crew, and spent a week relaxing at Hilton Head. Along with long days spent on the beach, she and her husband David spent time with their best friends, drinking coffee every morning and riding bikes in the rain. She kept her skills fresh on the rink and skated (sweated) all summer long. The grand finale of the Summer was celebrating Lauren + Cody’s big day and busting all of the moves on the dance floor. **Christy’s summer was brought to you by her faithful UO shorts that essentially served as her travelling pants.
L-Dub spent a lot of time traveling this Summer: between St. Lucia, Hilton Head, the mountains, Charlotte, Athens, and Atlanta, her Summer was spent on the road and on the beach. She helped welcome one of her best friend’s new baby, went blonde for the first time, celebrated her 29th birthday in unicorn style, and hosted a doggie birthday party complete with chicken nuggets for her pupper Ellie. Ever the sports fan, L-Dub attended numerous baseball games and kicked off football season attending UGA and Falcons games.
Bay spent a ton of time at the beach this Summer, in Hilton Head for a girls trip and the annual family vacay up in Beaufort, NC. She and pupper Stella made trips up to Smith Mountain Lake for lazy lake days and made regular trips to Charlotte for fun weekends zipping around on Birds. Bay took a trip to New York City to attend a wedding and had the chance to see some of Timothy Goodman’s street work. She wrapped up her summer with a trip to ATL with L-Dub to watch her Panthers play the Falcons (which was fun, despite the loss).
Lauren had some big happenings this summer as she wrapped up wedding planning, was showered by family and friends, bach tripped in the ATL, and finally marched down the aisle to her best friend on September 15th. They honeymooned in Riviera Maya before heading to Disney with family. Back tracking from the big day, she kicked off her summer in Orange Beach, Alabama with the Smartt siblings and their families. She ate the best food of her life, helped welcome the son of some of her best friends, and made a trip back to the Benz with her best boys for a United win. She’s back in Augusta and settling into newlywed life!
Oz blinked, and his summer was over. He claims there was not much going on, but he did love watching his children as they are developing into wonderful, tiny humans. He has one preparing for her sophomore year in high school, one going into the eighth grade, and one who just started day-care. He’s enjoyed watching them become artists in their own ways.
Chloe spent her summer pumped up about the exciting happenings at Land of Thee. Along with learning the ins-and-outs of that side of the business, she sent her cousin off to LSU and spent tons of time with the newest of member of her family, Padfoot. Besides staying close and hanging with her dad and Padman, Chloe took a few trips to the beach, and attended lots of concerts in town. She recently got super brave and followed in Christy’s roller strides and started derby practice.
Natalie spent her summer working hard and spending time with her family. It was highlighted by a family trip to the beach. She also spent a lot of time with her work fam and attended the Governors conference up in Atlanta. She danced the night away at Lauren and Cody’s wedding, and is looking forward to more fun this fall.
Riki had a full Summer of travel and visiting with her favorite people. There was a long weekend on the Georgia coast that was fun and relaxing (plus a stormy rescue). A trip to Hilton head with besties, and a week in Virginia and Tennessee with family and the baseball crew. She took a two week road trip out west through Mississippi, Texas, and New Mexico that ended in Arizona at the Grand Canyon. She experienced several D1 football stadiums, Cadillac Ranch, Sedona, and lots around Dallas. The most exciting part of her summer was her transition back into the working world (WELCOME RIKI) after being at home with her kids for the past few years.
The Kru would like to introduce Intern Hailey — her Summer was full of life changes as she graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, moved to Augusta, and got engaged! She also took a trip to Vegas, hiked Angel’s Landing at Zion National Park, and had In-N-Out for the first time. She went to MomoCon with friends, spent her birthday at the Georgia Aquarium with the Whale Sharks (her fave animal), and started her job as a froster at the new Nothing Bundt Cakes (HOLLA FOR THE BUNDTINIS). Welcome Hailey, we’re so happy you’re here!
