The Georgia Grown initiative is something that has become near and dear to our hearts here at Kruhu. As a marketing and economic development program developed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture to promote and support small businesses and the agricultural community in Georgia, it is something that has helped agribusiness in the state of Georgia thrive. Last Thursday, the Kru had the pleasure of hosting representatives from Georgia Grown as well as some of the finest small and locally grown businesses for a meet and greet event.
The event kicked off with special guest Commissioner Gary Black in the house to discuss the great things happening with Georgia Grown and the progress that has been made in the past few years statewide, nationally, and internationally.
Representatives from the state made the trip from Atlanta to visit with many of our area Georgia Grown members and the opportunity to sample some of our areas greatest local fare, including The Chicken Log, Proper Pepper Pimento Cheese, Stone Roastery Coffee, Springtime Water, Big Boy Cookies, Fruitland Vodka, and a delicious spread by our newest favorite downtown Augusta establishment, The Southern Salad.
We look forward to partnering with many of our small business/Georgia Grown friends in the future for the betterment of their brands and businesses, and hope to continue the fun!
