We won Best in Class: Charity for the Golden Harvest Food Bank website in the 2013 Interactive Media Awards! Scoring high in Design, Content, Functionality and Usability, we couldn’t be more proud of this site and we’re so thankful for Golden Harvest’s confidence in us. SEE THE WINNING WEBSITE ☛

The ultimate purpose of the Golden Harvest Food Bank website was to educate the community about the hungry people in need and increase local involvement. The site raises awareness while transforming visitors into donors and helps agencies obtain applicable information and gain volunteers.

The website design relied on bold typography and minimalistic brand colors to portray information in an easily digested manner. Simple yet impressive features like interactive graphs and informative graphic sliders make this site unique and fun to discover. A main section of the site, the Donate Page, lets visitors quickly give to GHFB and learn exactly how much their donation helps the community with a live dollar-to-food converter. We also included informative sections in the Agency Zone to help with tracking donations and submitting reports. We even implemented a totally custom MyHarvest: Campaign Headquarters section. This is where users can create an account to invite people to shop in a personal virtual grocery store and donate their ‘items’ to the hungry. Users can manage and promote their current campaigns across social media platforms and even discover other local campaigns.

From the long brainstorm sessions to the hours of troubleshooting, it was all worth it. We can’t wait to see how Golden Harvest Food Bank grows and continues to do amazing things within our community.
